Announcing

4ZZZ On-Air

4ZZZ is unique in that we don't use playlists to control what music hits the airwaves.

There are over 80 program on our 102.1FM channel with a further bunch of specialist programs on our Zed Digital channel.

When announcing station volunteers select all of the music you hear. Announcers' are however required to meet certain quotas to ensure adequate representation is given to local, new and Australian music and music with female content.

Hosting a 4ZZZ Program

Firstly, you must be a current 4ZZZ subscriber and all of our announcers are volunteers at the station. Once you show your regular commitment to 4ZZZ as a volunteer, you are eligible to apply for an on air show.

Our Grid (or Program Guide) changes every 6 months, with applications going out to our volunteers each block. Each new grid commences on June 1 and December 1.

4ZZZ Volunteer Info:
- All announcers/volunteers must be current subscribers to the station (and continue to be so while volunteering at 4ZZZ) http://www.4zzzfm.org.au/subscribe
- All announcers must have completed around 50 hours of volunteering before being considered for an on air program and maintain a volunteering commitment outside of hosting an on air program. You can apply to volunteer at the station through our online form www.4zzzfm.org.au/participate
- All announcers must have completed 4ZZZ's In House Announcer Training Program or they will not be eligible to be considered for an on-air shift
