4ZZZ is one of the most unique independent community broadcasters in Australia, providing a forum for musicians, artists and creative counter-cultures, and an alternative to mainstream news and current affairs. 4ZZZ is renowned for community engagement, exceptional training services and for promoting local and Australian music - not to mention putting on live music events and gigs!

Accountability

Given the mission of 4ZZZ, the Station Manager is accountable to the Board of Directors for leading the station in its successful pursuit of objectives and strategic management of financial, technical, information and human resources, to ensure effective and efficient management and conduct of all station activities and services.

Authority

The Board of Directors approves the station’s strategy, corporate objectives, annual operating and capital budgets, major policy and the staff establishment on recommendations from the Station Manager.

 

SELECTION CRITERIA

Applicants must be able to demonstrate the following skills, knowledge and experience: 

1.Ability to lead an organisation, and demonstrated experience in the strategic management of station resources including financial, technological, information, communication and human resources.

2.Ability to build and sustain a motivated and skilled workforce, which includes volunteers, and to create a high degree of morale, team cohesion and effectiveness.

3.Commitment to community broadcasting and its objectives; and ability to understand and work with 4ZZZ’s station culture and program format.

4.Integrity and commitment to ethical practice, equity and diversity; and the ability to apply Equal Opportunity and Occupational Health and Safety principles and practices.

5.Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

6.Ability to recognise opportunities, devise innovative proposals and undertake research and development projects which may involve risk taking.

7.Success in establishing rapport and maintaining productive relations and effective networks within the work place and with organisations, business and government.

 

Salary

 $65k per annum plus 9.5 percent superannuation.
