A Country Practice

A Country Practice is a family band living on Yuggera and Turrbal Country. Fluctuating from pastoral ambience to skip-hop fused folk and drone-country, the group carve out their own little niche with brittle Casio keyboards, drum machines and nylon string guitars. Their debut album, released in 2021, explores the trio's time growing up in regional Queensland, the importance of urban gardening, and a longing for suburbia. As a companion to the release, the trio invited fourteen diverse sound artists, including Andrew Tuttle, Shoeb Ahmad and Orland Furious to remix the material into new works.
