Scientists Push for Conservation Funerals

Traditional burial rites are suprisingly damaging to the enviroment. Chemicals used in embalming can damage surrounding soil, plants and animals, while it estimated that in the US the equivalent of 4 million acres of forests are used for coffins every year. Cemetries also use a lot of land, which requires much water and resources to maintain. 4ZZZ reporter Ebony Wilson spoke to scientist Matthew Holden, who has a radical new idea for conversation burials to reduce the impacts that a funeral can have.
