Morcombe bus law being exploited says bus drivers

Transport minister Scott Emerson said one in ten children try to avoid paying the bus fare by citing the no child left behind policy. The policy was established after murdered child Daniel Morcombe was abducted from a Sunshine Coast bus stop. Transport workers union secretary Peter Biagni said it should not be the drivers responsibility to sort out fares and bus conductors should be trialled in problem areas. Police Commissioner Bob Atkinson said he recognises it is a complicated issue but urges to drivers not to leave a child alone at a bus stop.
