Elderly hospitalization examined

The Australian Institute of Health and Welfare has examined the movements of Australia aged 65 and over and is the first study to examine how hospitals are used by those already in residential care. The study also showed that respiratory conditions were the leading cause of hospital admissions for those in permanent residential care, while circulatory problems were the most common cause for those living in their own homes.
