Government denies dingoes at risk
Simon Stretton has a property with 18 dingoes from around the country but is battling biosecurity regulations because the state considers the wild dog to be a pest.
Stretton is particularly concerned with the Fraser Island population where he says a policy of culling problem animals will lead to interbreeding.
The Department of Environment and Heritage released a statement saying that they had not identified any risk to the dingoes on Fraser Island and would not support a plan to introduce new genetics to the local dingo population.
