Young Australians encouraged to take the lead on organ donation Australians are being encouraged to put their support for organ donation into practice by registering to become donors, ahead of Donate Life week. Almost 70% of Australians are willing to become organ or tissue donors, though only a third of adults have joined the national registry, and only 8% of 18-24 year olds. Assistant Minister for Health Ken Wyatt said there are 1500 families waiting for transplants and 12000 Australians are on dialysis. The apology was released yesterday during the first day of the DNC, amid chaotic scenes of Sanders supporters booing the nominee. Turkey issues warrants for journalists over failed coup Turkish authorities have issued arrest warrants for 42 journalists as part of an inquiry into alleged plotters of the failed coup. The government blames US-based cleric Fethullah Gulen, ally turned foe of the Turkish president Erdogan, for the bloody attempt at a military takeover.
