Pay it Forward subscriptions

To help people who might not be able to afford a 4ZZZ subscription we've created a Pay It Forward Subscription model to make it easier to volunteer and be a part of the 4ZZZ community.

How does it work?

There is a Pay It Forward Subscription category in the 4ZZZ Merch Cart. The price of this is set to the same price as a concession subscription ($40) and this is the subscription category the applicant will receive

As these subscriptions are purchased we'll be able to offer them to people who apply for a Pay It Forward subscription. Applications will be assessed on a monthly basis and we'll offer as many subscriptions as have been purchased. If there are excess Pay It Forward subscriptions or applications, these will be carried over to the following month. If there are no Pay if Forward subscriptions available when someone applies, their application will be held until one becomes available.

Pay it Forward subscriptions will be active for one year. Applicants can reapply if their subscription expires and they can't afford to renew.

Who is eligible?

Pay it Forward subscriptions will be available to anyone in financial hardship or who is currently incarcerated. 4ZZZ expects all volunteers to be current subscribers, so this removes that barrier for people who might not be able to afford a subscription.

How are subscriptions distributed?

Applications will be compiled by the Station Manager ahead of 4ZZZ Board meetings and sent to board members assess. Successful applicants will be notified by 4ZZZ if their application is approved.
