Queer Radio interview with Sally Morris (Wendybird: Treasure Island)

Blair and Sam get Sally Morris on the line this week to tell us all about Wendybird: a LGBTIQ+ space for all and their upcomming event where they create their own Treasure Island. WENDYBIRD: Treasure Island – Saturday, April 23. New Farm Neighbourhood Centre, 967 Brunswick Street, New Farm  If you are looking for some more meaningful connections with other LGBTIQ+ people, Wendybird is the space for you!   Ahoy! This event will have a Treasure Island theme. Dress up like a pirate if you feel like it and join us for a scavenger hunt - maybe you'll be the lucky one to find treasure! It will be fun for all ages and we'll also have some crafts especially for kids.   Wendybird is a friendly and safe space for you to meet and engage with a diverse range of people. Our blackboards will be there for you to share your thoughts, and there will be opportunities to participate in some thought provoking conversations about things that matter to you.   We will be having a BBQ with beef sausages, vegetarian sausages, onion, bread, sauces, tea/coffee, cordial and water. If you have specific dietary requirements (such as gluten free, lactose free or vegan), we suggest that you bring along something that you know you are able to eat.   We welcome gold coin donations to cover the costs of refreshments and venue hire. You are also welcome to bring some salads to share if you are able, we always appreciate the yummy food that others contribute!
