Welcome to Protis Reviews. My name is Alan, and for an hour each week I will be showcasing the hottest releases from local artists in the Brisbane music scene, as well as those from interstate and overseas. I have been writing reviews of studio releases, be they singles or EPs, since June of 2024. I started reviewing live performances in September of 2024, and have been enjoying these immensely! My aim for this show is to see how it works in a radio format.
Teenage Bees are a Brisbane/Meanjin synth-leaning indie project blending 90s video game-inspired electronics with hook-heavy pop songwriting. Their latest single called "Every Day IS A Nightmare" was released on the 13th of October, and the launch gig for this song was held at The Junk Bar in New Farm on Halloween night the 31st of October. Jack and Tiff from Teenage Bees sit down with Alan for an insightful chat about their music.
