Radio Reversal is a show that subjects aspects of everyday life to historico-political, theoretical, cheeky, irreverent, high brow, low brow, eye brow, warm-hearted analysis. Our aim is to see the world more clearly, think about what we'd like it to become, and how we can make that happen.  We think that discussing these sorts of ideas is one way to lessen the alienation that affects many of us trying to make sense of a world that so often makes no sense of us.  We also play loads of awesome music (sometimes thematic!) with great enthusiasm for requests and an emphasis on supporting local artists. It's fun!

This is what repression looks like

Morning Zed-rades, Han in the studio for rants and shares about several recent examples of rising repression in the colony via the arts and the academy. First Creative Australia withdrew its support of artist Khaled Sabsabi's work for the Venice Biennale 2026, and in a senate estimates hearing on this Butchulla Songman Fred Leone was unfairly singled out and demonised for his support of Palestinian resistance to genocide, characterising his legitimate criticism of Israel and Zionism as "antisemitism". This same dangerous conflation has been codified in the recent decision by Universities Australia to bough to political pressure by Zionists, and adopt a definition of antisemitism that silences dissent, shields Israeli war crimes, and criminalises Palestinian voices, as well as other Black and Brown voices of solidarity.

As APAN (the Australia Palestine Advocacy Network) identifies: "This isn’t about fighting hate – it’s about erasing truth, punishing resistance, and turning universities into propaganda machines for apartheid."

The show today digs into this particular symptom of rising fascism, drawing heavily on the work of our friends at the Institute for Collaborative Race Research.
