Fire To The Prisons

Fire To The Prisons is a one person anarchist black metal project from Peter Thrupp, based in Meanjin (so called Brisbane, Australia). Their self-titled debut EP explores a range of sounds, ranging from crust, blackgaze and blackened doom. This varied approach is an explicit rejection of genre purity so often expected in black metal's history. Lyrically, the EP touches on themes of depression and resistance, sometimes in a more straight ahead fashion, and sometimes through the filter of fictional characters and settings, such as The Expanse or Alex Marshall's Crimson Empire series.
